Sponsoring a Child
Thank you for helping make a miracle happen for a very special child! Your sponsorship will make a difference and help break this terrible cycle of poverty. By becoming a sponsor you can make an immediate difference in a child’s life and see tangible results. If you decide to sponsor a child for more than a year (US$ 450 per year), you will be entitled to become a member of the Bridge Program. Benefits of this program include:
- 2 letters from your child and an updated photo each year.
- The opportunity to write to your child as often as you like, as well as send birthday and other presents.
- Receiving personalized correspondence from your sponsored child and regular updates of his/her academic progress.
We pledge that your donation will be utilized judiciously for the purpose it is meant for. A contribution of US$ 37.5 will cover food, clothing, medication and education of a child for one month. If you decide to sponsor a child, we will send you the child’s case history and photograph. Funds are also needed for the expansion of school and hostel facilities to accommodate more children.
Sponsoring a Nun
We take this opportunity to earnestly appeal to all generous-minded brothers and sisters to help implement the nunnery. A contribution of US$ 500 per year will cover food, clothing, medication and education of a nun.We also need funds for the expansion of the physical facilities such as a dining hall, classrooms and accommodations to take in more nuns in the future. We plan to build 5 more rooms to accommodate another 10 nuns in the next year.
Sponsoring Aged and Destitute
The residents of Home for the Aged and Destitute are very humble and easy to support with a few requirements. Nevertheless, appart from the basic needs like clothing, shelter, food and medicine, Mahabodhi wishes to provide the Aged with good facilities, to protect them from the rough climate of Ladakh and provide them a save and warm surrounding. Some of the inmates are urgently in need of better medical utensils like wheel chair, mobile toilet chair or spectacles.By supporting one of the inmates through a sponsorship of just 30 USD a month, a lot of improvements can be done and your kind help enables an old person to enjoy the last part of his/her life in a very peaceful and suitable surrounding.
